7 Troubleshooting
If...

Try one or more of the following
|
Picture is too dark or underexposed
|

Use Fill flash (Using the flip-up flash) or change your position so light is not behind the subject.

Move so that the distance between you and the subject is within the effective flash range (Using the flip-up flash).

To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter button halfway and hold. When the AF/AE indicator turns green, press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

Use P mode to adjust the Exposure and Flash Compensations (Using the jog dial to change P, A, S, M, or C mode settings).

Use P mode (Using the jog dial to change P, A, S, M, or C mode settings) and Selectable Zone (see Focus Zone on ).

Picture is too light

Picture is not clear

To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter button halfway and hold. When the AF/AE indicator turns green, press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

Clean the lens (Tips, safety, maintenance).

Make sure camera is not in Close-up mode if you are more than 21 in. (0.7 m) from your subject.

Place the camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod, especially in high-zoom settings or in low light.
