Camera does not turn on

• Remove battery and verify that it's the correct type, then reinsert it.

• Insert a charged battery.

• Connect the camera to a Kodak 5-volt AC adapter (sold separately), then try again. See Charging the batteryfor more battery information.

Camera does not turn off

Camera buttons and controls do not function

EVF/LCD screen is black or does not turn on

• Remove the lens cap.

• Push the EVF/LCD toggle button to change display.

• Press any button to restore the EVF/LCD from Stand By.

• Turn the camera off, then on again to restore power.

In Review, a blue or black screen is displayed instead of a picture

• Transfer all pictures to the computer (see Transferring pictures ).

• Take another picture. If problem continues try internal memory or another memory card. Download all the images, then format the card and try using the card again in the camera.

Pictures remaining number does not decrease after taking a picture

• Continue taking pictures. The camera is operating normally

(The camera estimates the number of pictures remaining after each picture is taken, based on picture size and content.)

Picture orientation is not accurate

• Set the Orientation Sensor to ON ().

Flash does not fire

• Open the flash unit (Using the flip-up flash ).

• Check the flash setting and change as needed (Changing the flash settings ).

External flash does not fire

• Turn on the flash unit.

• Insert a charged battery.

Storage location is almost or entirely full

• Transfer pictures to the computer (Transferring pictures ).

• Delete pictures from the card or insert a new one (Deleting pictures and videos).

• Change image storage location to internal memory (see table on Setup menu options).

You cannot take a picture

• Turn the camera off, then on again.

• Depress shutter button all the way (Taking a picture).

• Insert a charged battery (Charging the battery).

• Memory full. Transfer pictures to the computer (Transferring pictures ), delete pictures from the camera (Deleting pictures and videos) or card, change image storage location, or insert a new card.

Error message appears on EVF/LCD screen

• Turn the camera off, then on again.

• Follow action recommended on screen, record error number, if displayed; then turn camera off, then on again.

• Remove memory card from the camera and/or download pictures, then format the card and try using the card again in the camera.

• Remove the battery and wipe the contacts with a clean, dry cloth (Battery safety and handling). Reinstall the battery.

• If all else fails, get customer support help (see Telephone customer support).

Memory card not recognized or camera freezes with card.

• Card may be corrupted. Format card in camera (see Storing pictures on an SD or MMC card). Data will be erased if formatted.

• Use another memory card.
