3 Taking pictures/videos

Using the Zoom

Use optical zoom to get closer to your subject before taking a picture or video. (If the zoom button is pressed during video recording, then digital zoom is used.)

  1. Use the LCD to frame your subject. (For focus distances, see Specifications.)

  2. To zoom in, turn the zoom clockwise, aiming the pointer at T (Telephoto "+"). To zoom out, turn the zoom counter-clockwise, aiming the pointer at W (Wide Angle "-").

  3. Take the picture or video.

NOTE: To get a focused picture every time, use the Focus brackets (Taking pictures in Smart Capture mode). You cannot zoom in Super Macro focus mode (Using the Focus button).
