Checking Camera Status

The icons that appear on the camera screen indicate the active camera and picture settings. See Camera Screen Icons for a list of the icons.

To check the current camera settings:


  • Turn the Mode dial from the Off position.

    If is displayed in the status area, press the Flash/Status button to display additional settings.

    Press to redisplay the status information at any time.


  • Press the Flash button.

    The current camera status icons are displayed in the bottom half of the Flash screen.


  • Press the Shutter button halfway down when Liveview is on. Current aperture, shutter speed, and digital zoom values are displayed.

    Other icons temporarily disappear.
