Camera ready light status
Status | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Ready light does not turn on and the camera does not work.

Camera is not turned on. |
Turn on the camera (Turning on the camera). |
Batteries are exhausted or are not charged. |
Install new batteries (Loading the batteries) or charge rechargeable batteries. |

Mode dial was on when batteries were reloaded. |
Turn Mode dial off, then back on. |

Ready light blinks green. |
Picture is being processed and saved to the camera. |
Camera is operating normally. |
Ready light blinks amber. |
Flash is not charged. |
Wait. Resume picture taking when the light stops blinking and turns green. |
Camera is initializing. |

Ready light blinks red and camera turns off.

Batteries are low or exhausted. |
Install new batteries (Loading the batteries) or charge rechargeable batteries. |
Ready light glows steady red. |
Camera's internal memory or card is full. |
Transfer pictures to the computer (Transferring pictures with the USB cable), delete pictures from the camera (Deleting pictures and videos), switch image storage locations ( ), or insert a card with available memory (Storing pictures on an SD or MMC card). |
Camera processing memory is full. |
Wait. Resume picture taking when the light turns green. |

Card is read-only. |
Change the image storage location to internal memory ( ), or use a different card. |
