Picture is too dark or underexposed

• Reposition camera for more available light.

• Use Fill flash (Changing the flash settings ) or change your position so light is not behind the subject.

• Move so that the distance between you and the subject is within the effective flash range (Using the flip-up flash ).

• To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter button halfway and hold. When the AF/AE indicator turns green, press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

• Use P mode to adjust the Exposure and Flash Compensations (Using exposure compensation with exposure bracketing).

• Use P mode (PASM and C1, C2, C3 modes) and Selectable Zone (see AF Zone on ).

Picture is too light or overexposed

• Reposition camera to reduce the amount of available light.

• Turn flash off (Using the flip-up flash ).

• Move so that the distance between you and the subject is within the effective flash range (Using the flip-up flash ).

• To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter button halfway and hold. When the AF/AE indicator turns green, press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

• Use P mode to adjust the Exposure and Flash Compensations (Using exposure compensation with exposure bracketing).

Picture is not clear

• To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter button halfway and hold. When the AF/AE indicator turns green, press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.

• Clean the lens (Additional care and maintenance).

• Make sure camera is not in Close-up mode if you are outside of the close-up focus specification.

• Make sure camera is not in Telephoto mode if you are closer than the telephoto focus specification.

• Place the camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod, especially in high-zoom settings or in low light.
