8 Editing pictures and videos

Accessing the video-editing features

When you're reviewing a video and choose Edit, you get video-editing tools:

  1. Press the Review button .

  2. Press to find a video. (You can also choose Home, Videos, then find a video.)

  3. If the toolbar is hidden, press to reveal it.

  4. Press and to highlight Edit , then press OK.

  5. Press to highlight:

  6. Press OK.

NOTE: When you're reviewing a picture and choose Edit, you get picture-editing tools (Accessing the picture-editing features).

Trimming a video

You can remove the start or end from a video, saving only the desired portion.

NOTE: This feature is also available during video playback.

  1. Press the Review button .

  2. Press to find a video. (You can also choose Home, Videos, then find a video.)

  3. If the toolbar is hidden, press to reveal it.

  4. Press and to highlight Edit , then press OK.

  5. Press to highlight Trim , then press OK.

  6. Press OK to highlight the Start Trim mark . Press to move it to its new location. When it's in position, press OK to lock it in place.

    Press to highlight the End Trim mark . Press to move it to its new location. When it's in position, press OK to lock it in place.



  7. Press and to highlight Done, then press OK.

    Follow the prompts to Save as New, Cancel, or Replace Original.

To return to picture-taking mode, press the Shutter button halfway down.

Making a picture from a video

You can choose a single frame from a video, then make it into a picture.

NOTE: Picture quality depends on video resolution. This feature is also available during video playback.

  1. Press the Review button .

  2. Press to find a video. (You can also choose Home, Videos, then find a video.)

  3. If the toolbar is hidden, press to reveal it.

  4. Press and to highlight Edit , then press OK.

  5. Press to highlight Make Picture , then press OK.



  6. Press OK to play the video. When you reach the desired frame, press OK to Pause.

    NOTE: While the video is paused, you can press to move one frame at a time.

  7. Press and to highlight to highlight Make Picture, then press OK.

    The picture is created. (The original video is saved.)

To return to picture-taking mode, press the Shutter button halfway down.

Making an action print from a video

From a video, you can make a 9-up picture. The camera chooses the first, last, and seven equally spaced frames from the video.

NOTE: Picture quality depends on video resolution. This feature is also available during video playback.

  1. Press the Review button .

  2. Press to find a video. (You can also choose Home, Videos, then find a video.)

  3. If the toolbar is hidden, press to reveal it.

  4. Press and to highlight Edit , then press OK.

  5. Press to highlight Action Print , then press OK.

    A 9-up picture is created using the first, last, and 7 equally spaced frames.

To return to picture-taking mode, press the Shutter button halfway down.
