Using the Digital Zoom

The Digital Zoom feature provides up to 3X magnification of your pictures. You may notice a decrease in printed image quality when using Digital Zoom.

  1. Make sure the Mode dial is set to Still , then press the Select button to turn on Preview.

Use the LCD to frame your subject.

  2. Press the arrow button to begin zooming.

Keep the button pressed down for continuous magnification, or release it at any point.

The LCD displays the zoomed image and the magnification level as it changes.

  3. Release the button and take the picture.

  4. Press the arrow button to zoom out and turn off Digital Zoom.

NOTE: Digital Zoom is automatically turned off when the camera state changes (when you turn off Preview, move the Mode dial position, turn the camera off, or when the camera enters Sleep mode).
