Using the Flash
When you take pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows, your pictures may need flash. The camera flash is effective at the following distances, depending on your zoom position.
Zoom position (at ISO 140) | Effective flash—distance from subject |
---|---|
Wide Angle |
1.6 to 10.5 feet (0.5 to 3.2 m) |
Telephoto |
1.6 to 7.5 feet (0.5 to 2.3 m) |

NOTE: | When you are shooting in low-light conditions with the flash turned off, the camera uses slow shutter speeds. Take care to avoid camera shake. Use a tripod or place the camera on a steady surface. |
