The camera does not turn on

• Remove, then reinsert the battery (Loading the battery).

• Recharge the battery (Charging the battery).

• Place the camera on an optional printer dock or an optional Photo Frame Dock, then try again.

• Connect the camera to an AC adapter, then try again.

• If the slot cover is open, you cannot turn the camera on.

The camera does not turn off and the lens does not retract

Camera buttons do not function

The camera screen does not turn on

Turn the camera off, then on again.

In Review, a blue or black screen is displayed instead of a picture

Transfer the picture or all pictures to the computer (Transferring and printing pictures). Format the internal memory or card after transfer.

The pictures remaining number does not decrease after taking a picture

Continue taking pictures. The camera is operating normally. (The remaining number of pictures that can be taken varies according to picture quality and content.)

You cannot take a picture or video

• Turn the camera off, then on again.Press the Shutter button all the way.

• Battery is exhausted. Recharge the battery or insert a new one (Loading the battery).

• Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to take another picture.

• Transfer pictures to the computer (Transferring and printing pictures), delete pictures from the camera (Deleting pictures and videos), switch image storage locations (), or insert a card with available memory (Storing pictures and videos on an xD-Picture Card™).

Picture orientation is not accurate

Set the Orientation Sensor ().

Flash does not fire

Check flash setting, and change as needed (Using the flash).

Battery life is short

Recharge the battery fully or insert a new one (Loading the battery).

Camera displays an error code

• Press the Shutter button all the way.

• Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to take another picture.
