8 Troubleshooting and support

Screen messages

Screen message Try one or more of the following

File is bad.

(usually preceded by the file name: xxx_xxxx.JPG file is bad or xxx_xxxx.MOV file is bad)

The frame is unable to display the picture or video because the file is corrupted or it's an unsupported file format ( ).

Note that HD videos are not supported. Therefore an MOV video, in HD, will not play even though the MOV format is supported.

Create file failed.

The device (memory card, USB drive, camera, etc.) you are trying to copy to is protected.

  • See your device documentation to remove write protection.

  • Insert or connect a different device.

Printer unavailable.

Unable to connect to printer.

Printing error.

  • Make sure your printer is on and the USB cable is securely connected (Printing pictures).

  • Check your printer for more info.

Time out occurred while printing.

  • Check cables and printer supplies. Print again.

Write failed. Select another location.

The frame was unable to copy the picture.

Unable to create file. Device write protected or full.

The frame was unable to copy the picture.

  • Insert a different card or device (Inserting a memory card).

  • Remove write protection, unlock card.

  • Delete pictures from card.

Disk full.

Please select Allow on computer and try again

The frame is attempting to access your computer through WINDOWS MEDIA Player (instead of KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software); and the frame has not been 'allowed' in MEDIA Player.

To access your computer using WINDOWS MEDIA Player:

  1. Allow the frame in MEDIA Player: Select Library ® Media Sharing. Follow the on-screen directions to allow your frame.

  2. Tap Home ® Pictures and Videos. Select a computer name that starts with the frame name, not Kodak (indicates a connection through WINDOWS MEDIA Player.).

To access your computer using EASYSHARE Digital Display Software (recommended):

  • Tap Home ® Pictures and Videos. Select a computer name that starts with Kodak (indicates a connection through Digital Display Software).

Error attempting to open file or directory.

  • Turn off the frame, then turn it back on. Press and hold the power button (for about 2 seconds), then release. If the problem persists, contact customer support help, at www.kodak.com/go/digitalframesupport.

Error duplicate filename.

Error occurred while closing a file.

Error invalid filename.

Error reading from file.

Error writing from file.

Error writing a file.

Error writing to a file.

File Copy Failed!

Internal error.

Parameter is invalid.

Unknown error.
